Becoming a rhinoplasty surgeon takes many years of dedicated training, precision, and passion. For me, this journey has evolved over more than 20 years of study, surgical practice, and continuous learning, all focused on understanding both the function and aesthetics of the nose.

Foundations in ENT and Rhinology

After completing my ENT registrar training in the Wessex region, I developed a deep interest in nasal anatomy and physiology. This led me to pursue a PhD in mucosal immunology of the nose, exploring how the nasal lining interacts with the immune system. That scientific foundation continues to shape how I approach surgery today, with a respect for the nose as both a functional organ and a defining facial feature.

Specialist Fellowships

Following my higher surgical training, I undertook two advanced fellowships to refine my skills in complex nasal and facial surgery:

  • The British Rhinological Society Fellowship, focusing on advanced rhinology and septorhinoplasty.

  • An Anterior Skull Base, Skin Cancer, and Facial Plastics Fellowship in Winchester and Southampton, where I gained extensive experience in reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery.

These experiences allowed me to combine delicate reconstructive techniques with aesthetic precision.

Teaching and International Collaboration

I am committed to teaching and sharing knowledge. I teach on the Dundee Advanced Rhinoplasty Course and am a faculty member on the Guildford Rhinology Course, which includes functional endoscopic sinus surgery and septorhinoplasty.

I have also been fortunate to observe rhinoplasty surgeons around the world, learning from international leaders in aesthetic and functional techniques. Equally rewarding, surgeons now visit me to learn advanced methods such as dorsal preservation and Piezo ultrasonic rhinoplasty techniques I have incorporated into both my NHS and private practice.

Professional Certification and Societies

I am board certified through the Royal College of Surgeons and an active member of several professional organisations:

  • British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (BSFPS) – where I recently gave a lecture on cosmetic certification.

  • British Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons – supporting excellence and innovation in nasal surgery.

These affiliations reflect my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of surgical safety, ethics, outcomes and staying upto date with the newest techniques and technologies.

Bringing It All Together

My approach to rhinoplasty blends science, function and aesthetics. Whether restoring breathing through functional septorhinoplasty or refining form through cosmetic rhinoplasty, my goal is to achieve natural, balanced, and lasting results.

Having trained for more than two decades, I continue to learn, innovate, and teach, ensuring that every patient benefits from the most up-to-date and precise rhinoplasty techniques available today.
