Getting a rhinoplasty was a big deal for me, I wanted a surgeon that I could trust. Dr Biggs was absolutely excellent from start to finish. Tim was so good for my operation, I was really nervous and he talked me through everything and every step he was going to do. He came to see me when I was awake and let me know how the operation went and when he would be seeing me next, the follow up appointments were great and he was happy with how it was healing. Mr Biggs performed septorhinoplasty on me in April 2024, which has been a huge success and I can now breathe through my nose properly. I have had 2 post operative appointments to ensure all is well. I was surprised at how quickly I was seen and how well the operation went with little pain and discomfort after the procedure. The instructions were clear after surgery and the care was fantastic given all the issues that the nhs has right now. My nose feels so much better now after 30 years of issues.

I visited Mr Timothy Biggs for a consultation on my broken nose after falling down the stairs at home. My nose had bent to one side and I had trouble breathing which was affecting my quality of life. Mr Biggs carried out a Rhinoplasty to straighten my nose and inserted a titanium implant to open up my nostrils. I was under the care of Mr. Timothy Biggs for a Potts Puffy Tumour in November 2023. Throughout my time in hospital he was caring and understanding, he explained everything about my condition and subsequent operations, which put me at ease and was very reassuring. Tim had recently carried out a Rhinoplasty on myself. From the initial appointment he had listened to my concerns about my nose and straight away he was able to advise what was needed to be able to rectify the issues i had. He was honest about the procedure and made me feel very comfortable (as i suffer with PTSD from past medical trauma). The surgery was carried out quickly, my nose is still healing as it has only been a month since the procedure however it is all healing very well from what i can see. Tim had a follow up appointment after my surgery to take the cast off my nose and had checked to see if it was healing okay. He was happy with the results which is comforting to hear from a trained professional. I am also very happy with the results and cannot wait to be able to breath properly.

Putting the one year wait to one side, this was one of the best NHS experiences I have and that comes from someone described as difficult and demanding!

Right I'll start of how it started. At the age of 8 I had a bad accident that ended up spreading my septum from my face; all the cartilage dissolved resulting in my nose sagging to one side and completely blocking my right nostril, which left me with a tiny passage that I could barely sneeze through. I met Tim Biggs at Portsmouth hospital when I was 27, as I'd had re occurring sinusitis and bad hay fever. A few visits went past, with lots of help and reassurance on the procedure I was going to have to fix my nose, with part of a rib bone and cartilage being used. It went perfect and I couldn't of asked for better care from Dr Tim Biggs from start to finish. It was amazing I'm am glad to have met him. It was over 2 years since my original meeting with an NHS surgeon before my actual operation, so although I made some notes at that time, I didn't remember all the details of what was going to happen on the day. Mr Biggs was very patient and warm, explaining the procedure and answering all my questions.
The actual operation seems to have gone very well and I'm most of the way through the main part of my recovery. The whole surgical team were great throughout my time in the hospital. Although my follow-up had to be with a different surgeon due to some annual leave, I look forward to seeing Mr Biggs again in my 6 month check-up.
Excellent care from start to finish. The first consultation put my mind at ease and gave me plenty of time to ask question or share concerns, which then gave me the confidence and trust for the upcoming procedure. My son recently had sinuplasty / rhinoplasty surgery with Mr Biggs. In the 2 consultations we had leading up to the surgery, Mr Biggs was extremely informative & reassuring.
On the day of the procedure Mr Biggs & the other members of his team showed nothing but kindness reassurance & professionalism. The after care was advised & adhered to & despite my son looking quite uncomfortable for a couple of days ( as to be expected ), it settled equally as quickly as it came and by day 4/5 we were definitely over the worse. 2 weeks later having met with Mr Biggs to remove the splint we were thrilled with the result !! I had a great experience with Mr Biggs as my surgeon. I was very nervous before my operation and he was really good at reassuring me and telling me in detail what I was having done. He told me what I could expect and what the aftercare would be like. He also told me the risks with the surgery but he was very reassuring saying that they were not likely. He was very kind and put my mind at rest with any worries I had. When I had had my operation he came to visit me in the recovery ward and he told me that the surgery went really well and showed me the results. He said that if I had any worries or concerns that I would be able to contact him. After a week I came back to get my cast off and he was very helpful with any questions I had and wished me well with my further recovery. I would really recommend Mr Biggs as he is very trusting and compassionate. He did an amazing job with my nose and I’m really pleased with the results. I am able to breathe a lot better than before and the scars are barely visible. He has given me lots of confidence.

I had Rhinophyma distorting my nose which wasn't a pleasant sight, Mr Biggs removed the distortion leaving a normal looking nose.
For 3 years i ve been affected at least every 2 months by things like: cold, chest infection, sorethroat, flu, constant congestion and other problems.
A surgery was required, it went as the doctor explained, i followed his instrutions, and for the last 6 months i didnt experience any problems anymore, i finally feel really well and healty.
It seems my problem has been fixed and my health improved.
In my case i couldnt expect any better, so i dont have any suggestions to give.
Best ENT ive ever had. He actually listens to me. Hasn't taken me off his patient list just because my surgery has been done. He is the first consultant to agree with me that i also needed a septoplasty as well as polypectomy. His surgery has restored my sense of smell after over a decade (even my last polypectomy didn't help my sense of smell). I find him to be kind and respectful at all appointments and I can't thank him enough for all his help.
I've seen so many consultants and doctors over 10-12 years about my nose and used so many types of medication and various diagnosis including being allergic to trees. I met Tim for a consultancy on a Sunday at QA and although the meeting was brief, he was confident in his diagnosis, the work that needed to be carried out and the end result. I left feeling so much better and hopeful.
I was lucky enough to get an earlier op due to a cancellation and the team were great. I felt at ease. Tim spoke to me and went through the procedure and and I felt so hopeful. The Op was done and I was sat on a ward in recovery when Tim popped by to have a chat about the procedure and how it went. This was brilliant.
I can confirm that so far, the op has worked. I've not had a problem since. Even when I had a cold my nose blocked but quickly went back to normal after a day or so. I have suffered with this condition since birth, it has impacted me in so many ways. Not enough breath in my body to exercise fully, climb stairs and play with my children. This surgery has quite simply been life changing. I had tried many other solutions to support my condition, unsuccessfully.
Tim Biggs explained the procedure in a caring expertly manner after an accident where I broke my nose and I couldn’t breathe through my left nostril and limited breathing through my right nostril. After surgery Tim Biggs gave me an update and at the follow up consultation I told him that my breathing had improved significantly and had made my life so much better.
I was seen by two great consultants and nurses. I was struggling with breathing at night even with the assistance of CPAP. I had septorhinoplasty surgery with Mr Tim Biggs on the NHS, and I cannot overstate how life changing the results have been. I had previously undergone a septoplasty, but unfortunately it did not resolve my issues and actually made my breathing worse. Before this surgery, I was living with constant nasal blockage, poor airflow, disturbed sleep, and real difficulty exercising. It impacted my energy, my health, and my quality of life on a daily basis. Since having the septorhinoplasty, the improvements have been remarkable. My nose is now straight, my breathing is clear, and I finally have proper airflow for the first time in years. I sleep so much better and wake up feeling more rested, and exercising has become easier and far more enjoyable. The change has given me back a sense of normality and comfort that I never thought I would experience again. My most recent visit was to review the results of my septorhinoplasty, which turned out to be good and the surgery had gone really well, my septum had healed straight and there were no complications from the surgery at all. I have found that the surgery has really helped my quality of sleep, as I can lay down and don’t struggle to breathe. It has also done a lot of good to my self-confidence as my nose shape before the surgery was something that I was self conscious about and the surgery has made my nose a shape that I really like. Overall, it was a surgery that I am really happy that I received as it has only improved my health.
I was getting sick quite often; cold, flu, chest infections, sorethroat, one of those at least once every 4/6 weeks, and they were lasting too long, like 1 or 2 week for just cold or sorethroat. they were also always really bad, like with a cold i could not breath at all with the nose, sometimes i woke up during the night feeling i was about to soffocate, i had to quickly stand up to open the chest and breath deep with my mouth, not a nice feeling, really scary to be honest! also i was waking up tired, with dried mouth, for some reason i was not sleeping and so resting well. i was also feeling constantly like having a ball in my throat, i could feel it every single time i was swollowing, its really annoying. some times during winter was actually painful for my nose to breath, I got into the habit of breathing with my upper lip raised so i could use my moustache as an air filter. i was also experiencing random cuts inside the nose, near the tip, always more frequently, the year i was constantly dealing with it, i thought it was a pimple that broke and couldn't heal. i dont need to explain how much this situation was affecting my life in terms of work, sport, social life! i always thought i was a bit delicate, but a few years ago, slowly slowly things got too worst, i thought was quite unusual, maybe was some for of long covid? anyway, after a couple of years of not correct diagnoses, a doctor finally spotted the source of all my problems: the shape of my nose. He also said that my situation was not going to get better on his own, actually it was supposed to get just worst with time (like it was already happening). i'm not going through all the details on how that was strictly connected with all the problems above, but the doctor knew very well what he was talking about and explained everything to me. a couple of months later i had a rhinoplasty surgery. that was back in december 2024, the doctor said the surgery was good, now after 9 months i have to say: i never had a single day of flu, cold, sorethroat or anything at all, i ve been healty for 9 months since the operation, i dont even remember the last time i ve been so healty for so long, probably back in my 20s, so 15/20 years ago... im sleeping and waking up well, my throath is back to normal, i dont feel pain when i breath anymore, no more cuts or bleed in the nose. I feel like im living again my life, im more focussed on my job, i ve been so regular at being active with sport, i have much more energies and im more consistent with everything. Thats what i should do rather then being always busy or distracted dealing with healty problems, my mood has improved a lot and that also helps with everything. the rhinoplasty surgery has been the beginning of a virtuous circle it went even beyond my best expectations. Im living a much better life becose of the surgery.
Mr Biggs performed Septorhinoplasty on my nose which had been broken during childhood. I was unable to breathe through one of my nostrils and it was affecting my breathing and sleep. From my first appointment everything was great & obveouisly my nose was broken & I couldn’t breathe properly. & it was bent. So from start to finish everything was brilliant! Without the operation I don’t think I would of been breathing properly as I am now so am very thankful for the people & the surgery. I got seen very quickly also which was brilliant!

I appreciate ‘changed my life’ is an overused phrase but it is absolutely appropriate for my results from this surgery. Having spent years with difficulties breathing through my nose, and performing sinus rinses twice a day, I now breathe freely through my nose and it has also dramatically improved my quality of sleep. I wake less during the night and feel properly rested in the morning.

Everything was explained in a way I could understand, and I was very happy with Tim's focus on my wellbeing before, during and after the procedure (and what I should do about aftercare and recovery).
I broke my nose playing football 20 years ago, since Covid I have had extreme difficulties breathing. I went to my GP and it was recommended that I use nose sprays for the rest of my life. I persisted with the issue and after several visits, I was referred to QA. Within 30 seconds, Mr Tim Biggs diagnosed the issue and recommend Septorhinoplasty surgery. This procedure has been LIFE CHANGING for me. Every single symptom I had before has comepletly gone, I am able to breath normally now, my severe nose bleeds and head aches have stopped also. It is an incredible shame this is now no longer provided through the NHS. Without this, my quality of life would be significantly worse. Mr Biggs was the only ENT surgeon who improved my nasal respiratory issues significantly. And it has been life changing. 1st op quartering wasn’t enough 2nd op tried to correct a deviated septum and broke my nose and made matters worse 3rd op tried to correct damage of 2nd op but left a whistling hole in my septum 4th op was to repair hole in my septum that once again blocked my breathing. Finally Mr Biggs offered me an operation no one else did and it has had the best results. My breathing at night is vastly improved and also when exercising. Because I am on Biologics that cause rhinitis I am very grateful to Mr Biggs for improving my quality of life, vastly. I waited a long time but it was worth it. I wish this op was what I had been offered initially. That would have saved an enormous amount of funding. Maybe treatment options can be better managed to save on number of ops.

My procedure was effortless, free of worry and very professional. Given the experience, I had complete confidence in Tim Biggs. It has changed my life. When I first met Tim, I remember flinching when he tried to touch my nose. My nose has been the reason for such low confidence and self esteem, in additional to being unable to breath which effected my activities and wellbeing. I remember as a child, trying to punch my nose trying to rectify the faults. Since surgery, I can breathe! And I feel more confident in how I look improving my mental health significantly. I had been offered the procedure throughout my life by the NHS but had declined it as I did not feel I was ready. When I felt I was ready, I was able to contact the right professionals, leading to appointments and surgery. Like I said, this procedure has been life changing and I will be forever grateful to the NHS and Tim.
I first met Tim through an outpatient ENT consultation at QA hospital. I have suffered for some time with breathing difficulties and frequent sinus infections due to a deviated septum. I had a prior septoplasty surgery at another trust, which unfortunately failed. Tim recommended a septorhinoplasty to fully resolve my functional issue I had which impacted my life in numerous ways, including difficulty breathing, night waking, and frequent sinus infections. I was on the NHS waiting list for around 18 months, I had my surgery in March 2025. Tim went above and beyond at every stage of the process, both pre and post operatively. Tim came down to see me in recovery after the surgery to inform me that all went well. After he left, the nurses on the recovery ward spoke highly of him for his dedication and bedside manner, which I agree is exceptional. I unfortunately had a reaction to a medication post surgery, not associated with the actual surgery, but this meant I had to alter my post operative medications. As a staff member myself, and it being out of hours, I emailed Tim in the hope I could get some advice the coming days, to my surprise I had a reply within minutes late evening, his response cleared up my query and put my mind at rest. I know not all NHS patients would have the ability to email their consultant, but his diligence and drive to help is evidenced in this. I have met many healthcare professionals in my time, but Tim is exceptional with his patients and his passion for helping others shines through. ENT are fortunate to have an all rounder like Tim, approachable, caring, talented, and knowledgeable. Fast forward 6 months post-op to now, I now have vastly improved breathing, yet to have any sinus issues, sleeping better, and also very pleased with the improved appearance of my nose. I had a deviated septum for over 20 years. Previous operations has just focused on the internal part rather than fully structural. Tim put me at ease explaining the full process of the septorhinoplasty procedure and the idea of what would happen. It was as expected and communication with the follow up was clear and again explained about the healing process.
Mr Biggs is an exceptional surgeon. Polite, professional and done an excellent job, I can now breath through my nose, this has massively improved my way of life both physically and mentally. This is an essential surgery carried out impeccably.
