Consultation

What happens during a consultation

I will meet with you in the Adnova clinic in Fareham, a custom-built facility with consultation rooms and operating theatres to undertake day case surgeries. I will ask you to fill in some quality-of-life questionnaires. During the diagnostic consultation, we will discuss the functional (breathing) and aesthetic (look of your nose) concerns you have. How well you breathe through the nose and whether you have tried any treatments to improve this. I will ask you about your medical history and drug history and therefore it would be worthwhile bringing a list of current medications with you.

During the consultation, I will examine your nose, assessing its function and aesthetics. With your consent, I will take some photographs, to discuss further at a follow up consultation.

We will discuss what type of surgery you would benefit from (Rhinoplasty, Septorhinoplasty, Septoplasty) and the details of these.

Following the consultation I will write to you and your GP (with your consent), outlining the diagnosis, treatment, surgical options and follow up plan.

Do you offer video consultations?

Yes

Please contact the adnova clinic to arrange a video consultation. The consultation fee is payable in advance, and the consultation will occur at a time convient to you. It is helpful to provide some photographs prior to the consultation, which will include as a guide:

1. Front of face/nose

2. Right & left side of face/nose (approx 90 degrees)

 3. Right & left side of face/nose (approx 45 degrees)

4. From the bottom of the nose looking up

5. From the top of the nose looking down

Please see the pictures section for examples of what these typically look like. These initial photos do not need to be perfect and can be taken with a camera phone. They are just to provide a guide to help the consultation. I will need to meet with you face to face, to examine the nose and take formal photographs, before the surgery, which could be arranged the day before, if you are travelling from far away.

I do operate on patients throughout the UK, Europe & Internationally, so do let us know if you're travelling from further away, so that we can provide a first video consultation and further instructions/details regarding local hotels to help plan your post-operative recovery, prior to your return home.

Can I use my medical insurance (BUPA etc.)?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept medical insurance as a form of payment at Adnova.
